Born in Preston, Lancashire in 1955, I have been obsessed with the 2-dimensional image since early primary school, and still am. After completing Foundation in art (3 years - Just couldn't bring myself to leave!) studied Fine Art at Lanchester Polytechnic, Coventry gaining a BA Degree. Decided to have a 'gap' year having done a straight run of 6 years in further education, there was a real danger of becoming 'institutionalised' before resuming an MA at the RCA. I am still on that gap year! (That was 1978...)

While doing the degree course, I became very influenced by the Photo-realists, although I was always a figurative artist, hence the decision to go to Coventry. The airbrush became the preferred medium and did right up until the advent of the computer and the graphic and photo software.

Although, Christmas 2007, I received 2 commissions for paintings, using the unknown and mysterious medium of acrylics. They have come on a long way since the 1970's.

That, in combination with pastels, can give me the same fluidity and smoothness of tone as the airbrush did.

So, my art now works in more mediums than ever before.

The majority of the original art shown here is available to buy as the original piece or as signed limited editions. These are available as high quality prints on 200gsm art paper or as a box canvas print.

I am also available for commissions - art or photographic.
